What bookkeeping covers.

The rhythm

The monthly close, day by day.

  1. Business day03

    Feeds reconciled

Every bank and credit card account matched and categorized. Anything we can't identify comes to you as one short list — not forty emails.

  2. Business day06

    AP run & AR aging

Bills queued for your approval, receivables aging sent, and the accounts worth a phone call flagged before they age another month.

  3. Business day10

    Books closed

Profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow statement and budget-to-actual delivered. Zero uncategorized transactions.

  4. Business day12

    Review call

Thirty minutes on what changed, what it means, and the one or two decisions sitting in front of you this month.

Cadence applies to Essential plans and above. Starter plans close by business day 15 with a quarterly review call.

Behind?

Cleanup is a fixed-price project, quoted before it starts.

If you're months or years behind, that work is scoped and priced separately from the ongoing plan. We review your last 90 days, send a written findings memo with a fixed quote, complete the catch-up, and only then start the monthly rhythm on books that can be trusted.

The most common starting point. Most clients arrive behind. It isn't a reason to delay the call — it's the reason to make it.

Questions

About bookkeeping.

My books are months behind. Is that a problem?

No — it is the most common way clients arrive. We quote catch-up work as a separate fixed-price project based on a diagnostic, complete it first, then start the ongoing plan on clean books. You'll know the full cost before we begin.

Penalties and interest compound, and cleanup gets more expensive the longer it waits. The sooner it starts, the smaller the project.

Do I have to use QuickBooks Online?

QuickBooks Online is what we set up, clean up and manage day to day, so it is the smoothest path. If you're on another platform, raise it during the consultation and we'll tell you honestly whether we're the right firm for it.

What do you need from me each month?

Less than you'd expect. Bank and card feeds connect once and run themselves. You approve the bill run, forward anything unusual, and answer one short list of questions about transactions we can't identify. That's the whole ask.

What does "reconciled" actually mean?

It means the books agree with the bank, account by account, statement by statement. Until that's true, no report drawn from those books means anything — which is why it's the first thing we fix and the first thing we check every month.

Bring us your worst month.

Thirty minutes, no cost, no pitch deck. We'll tell you what we'd fix first and roughly what it would cost — even if the answer is that you don't need us yet.
