"Sales are up. Why is my account empty?"
Profit and cash are two different things. We build a rolling 13-week cash forecast so you see the gap coming — collections timing, inventory, payroll runs — instead of finding it on a Friday afternoon.
Bookkeeping · Tax · Fractional CFO — Delmar, MD
Everly turns messy financial records into a clean monthly close, a plain-English report, and a 30-minute conversation about what to do next — for small businesses and nonprofits across Maryland's Eastern Shore. Plans start at $350 a month, and the price is on this page, not behind a sales call.

The questions
Profit and cash are two different things. We build a rolling 13-week cash forecast so you see the gap coming — collections timing, inventory, payroll runs — instead of finding it on a Friday afternoon.
We model the hire against your real margins and runway: fully loaded cost, the month you break even, and what has to be true for it to work. You get a number, not a shrug.
We track your position every quarter and coordinate directly with your tax preparer — 1099s, Maryland sales tax, estimated payments — so April is a formality instead of a surprise.
What we do
Foundation
Ledger maintenance, bank and card reconciliation, vendor invoice processing, customer invoicing and aging, payroll reconciliation, and a clean month-end and year-end close. If your books are behind, we quote the catch-up separately and finish it before ongoing work starts.
Visibility
A monthly statement set plus a budget-to-actual variance report and the three or four numbers that actually move your business. Written so you can hand it to a lender, a board or a business partner without translating it first.
Compliance
Tax preparation and filings, audit support, 1099 preparation, Maryland, Delaware and Virginia sales tax, and grant and regulatory reporting. Because the same firm keeps your books all year, nothing has to be reconstructed in April — the return is built from records that were already current.
Direction
Annual budgets, cash flow forecasting, pricing and margin analysis, job costing for contractors, internal controls, and the reporting package lenders and investors ask for. Available as a standing engagement, a defined project, or a fully outsourced finance department.
The rhythm
Every competitor promises "timely" financials. Here is the actual schedule, and you can hold us to it.
Business day03
Every bank and credit card account matched and categorized. Anything we can't identify comes to you as one short list — not forty emails.
Business day06
Bills queued for your approval, receivables aging sent, and the accounts worth a phone call flagged before they age another month.
Business day10
Profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow statement and budget-to-actual delivered. Zero uncategorized transactions.
Business day12
Thirty minutes on what changed, what it means, and the one or two decisions sitting in front of you this month.
Cadence applies to Essential plans and above. Starter plans close by business day 15 with a quarterly review call.

Eight questions across how current your books are, cash visibility, tax readiness and margins. You get a score out of 100, the three things to fix first, and an honest answer about which plan fits — or whether you need us at all.
Who we serve
We work with owner-operated small businesses, nonprofit organizations and individuals across the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Delaware and Virginia — Delmar, Salisbury, Fruitland, Laurel, Seaford, Ocean City and the towns between — contractors and trades, seasonal and coastal businesses, healthcare practices, and community organizations.
You get a named person who knows your business, not a call center and not a subscription that quietly triples in year two. Every engagement starts by understanding your needs, your priorities and your budget, then building a scope that fits. If a service on our list isn't useful to you, it isn't in your plan.
The Access Program

Getting started
Thirty minutes. We ask what's actually going on with your books, who touches them, and what you need to be able to see.
30 minutes · no costWe review your last 90 days and send a written findings memo: what's clean, what's wrong, what it takes to fix, and a fixed quote.
Within 5 business daysChart of accounts rebuilt, historical periods corrected, bank feeds and app integrations connected, approval workflow agreed.
1–3 weeks · quoted upfrontThe rhythm begins. Reconciled by day 3, reported by day 10, reviewed by day 12 — every month after that.

Nothing here is invented. These are slots — see docs/02-strategy-and-positioning.md §7.
Client quote — to be collected
Ask for a specific outcome, not a compliment. "We went from four months behind to closing on the 10th" beats "great to work with" every single time.

One quote from a nonprofit executive director about board reporting or audit readiness will do more for that audience than any copy on this page.

Questions
Everly's bookkeeping plans start at $350 per month for sole proprietors and businesses under about $250,000 in revenue. Growing businesses with payroll and vendor management typically fall between $750 and $1,450 per month. Cleanup of past periods is quoted separately as a fixed-price project.
Reduced rates are available to nonprofits and to women-, minority-, veteran-, disability- and LGBTQ+-owned businesses through the Access Program.
No — it is the most common way clients arrive. We quote catch-up work as a separate fixed-price project based on the diagnostic, complete it first, then start the ongoing plan on clean books. You will know the full cost before we begin.
One thing worth knowing: penalties and interest compound, and cleanup gets more expensive the longer it waits. The sooner it starts, the smaller the project.
A bookkeeper records and categorizes transactions and keeps the ledger accurate month to month. An accountant interprets those records — preparing financial statements, advising on tax position, and guiding decisions. Everly does both: the recording work, and the interpretation that makes it useful.
Yes. Tax preparation and filings are part of what Everly does, alongside audit support, 1099 preparation and sales tax across Maryland, Delaware and Virginia.
The advantage of one firm doing both: because we keep your books current all year, nothing has to be reconstructed at filing time, and your quarterly position is tracked as you go rather than discovered in April.
QuickBooks Online is what we set up, clean up and manage day to day, so it is the smoothest path. If you're on another platform, raise it during the consultation and we'll tell you honestly whether we're the right firm for it.
Yes, and it is a specialty. That includes fund and grant tracking, restricted versus unrestricted reporting, functional expense allocation, board-ready financial packets, Form 990 preparation support, and audit-ready workpapers. Nonprofits also qualify for reduced rates under the Access Program.
Everly Accounting Solutions is based in Delmar, Maryland and serves the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Delaware and Virginia — including Salisbury, Fruitland, Delmar DE, Laurel, Seaford, Ocean City, Berlin, Cambridge, Accomac and Onancock. Because the work is done remotely, Everly also supports businesses beyond the region.
No. Plans are month to month. Cleanup projects are fixed-scope and fixed-price, so you are never signing up for an open-ended bill.
A named person, not a queue. You'll meet them on the consultation call and they stay with your account.

Thirty minutes, no cost, no pitch deck. We'll tell you what we'd fix first and roughly what it would cost — even if the answer is that you don't need us yet.
