Getting started
Four steps from first call to first close.
No long onboarding, no open-ended discovery, no surprise invoice. You'll know what's wrong with your books and what it costs to fix before you commit to anything.
The path
What happens, and when.
-
Free consultation
Thirty minutes. We ask what's actually going on with your books, who touches them, and what you need to be able to see. No pitch deck.
30 minutes · no cost -
Books diagnostic
We review your last 90 days and send a written findings memo: what's clean, what's wrong, what it takes to fix, and a fixed quote.
Within 5 business days -
Cleanup & setup
Chart of accounts rebuilt, historical periods corrected, bank feeds and app integrations connected, approval workflow agreed.
1–3 weeks · quoted upfront -
Your first close
The rhythm begins. Reconciled by day 3, reported by day 10, reviewed by day 12 — every month after that.
Next month end
The diagnostic
The part most firms skip.
A free consultation commits you to nothing and tells you nothing. A written diagnostic on your actual books is different: it says what's wrong, what it will take to fix, and what that costs — in writing, before you've paid anything.
It also means the decision in front of you isn't "do I trust this firm" but "do I accept this quote", which is a much easier question to answer.
What we need
To run the diagnostic.
- Read-only access to your accounting file (QuickBooks Online, or whatever you use)
- Bank and credit card feed access, read-only
- Your most recently filed business tax return
- A list of the apps and tools that touch your money
- Payroll provider details, if you run payroll
Questions
About getting started.
How long until my books are current?
The consultation is 30 minutes and the diagnostic memo follows within five business days. Cleanup typically runs one to three weeks depending on how far back it goes and how many accounts are involved. Your first monthly close lands at the next month end.
What do you need from me to get started?
Read-only access to your accounting file and bank feeds, your last filed tax return, and a list of the accounts and apps you use. That's enough for the diagnostic.
Is the diagnostic really free?
TK — confirm: free for all prospects, or a fixed fee credited back against cleanup for larger engagements? See docs/02 §5.
Bring us your worst month.
Thirty minutes, no cost, no pitch deck. We'll tell you what we'd fix first and roughly what it would cost — even if the answer is that you don't need us yet.
